Frequently asked questions
Here you'll find answers to the most common questions about our trips, booking, payment and what happens before and during your trip.
Booking and payment
Choose the trip you're interested in, then your preferred date, accommodation or boat. You then fill in the travellers' details and complete the booking at checkout. Once the booking is completed, the lead traveller receives a booking confirmation by email. The booking becomes binding when the written confirmation has been sent. If you're a school class, student union, student committee or larger group, you can contact us instead for a tailored group arrangement.
We offer a payment plan that adapts to how far away your departure is: • More than 120 days before departure: 40% is paid when you book, 30% no later than 90 days before departure, and the remaining 30% no later than 30 days before departure • 61–120 days before departure: 50% is paid when you book and the remaining 50% no later than 30 days before departure • 60 days or less before departure: the full amount is paid when you book Payment dates and amounts are also stated in your booking confirmation. Applies unless otherwise agreed.
You can pay by Swish or card. Klarna can also be used for instalments where the option is offered at checkout. The available payment methods are shown before you complete your booking.
The exact contents vary between Splitveckan, Seglingsveckan and Studentveckan. Our package trips normally include: • Return flights from your chosen departure city • Checked baggage • Accommodation according to your chosen trip • Transfer to the accommodation or boat where stated • Group leader support from Studentresor • Breakfast Personal expenses, some meals, nightlife and optional activities may cost extra. Always check the "What's included" section on the trip you want to book.
Yes. For larger groups, school classes, student unions and student committees we can set up a tailored arrangement. We then create a dedicated registration page for your group where each traveller fills in their own details and pays their own share. The group doesn't have to collect all the money itself. Smaller parties can book directly on the relevant trip's page.
It's often possible to add a traveller if there is still space in the same accommodation, on the same boat and on the flight. Price and availability are based on the conditions at the time the person is added. Contact us before the new person books so we can make sure the group can travel and stay together.
Yes, the booking can be transferred to another person who meets the conditions of the trip. Contact us in writing as early as possible. A notice given at least seven days before departure is always considered given within reasonable time. Any actual costs, for example a name change on the flight ticket, will be added. The original and the new traveller are jointly responsible for any remaining payments and for the costs of the transfer.
Yes. The cancellation must be made in writing by the lead traveller. The following standard cancellation fees apply: • 60 days or more before departure: 50% of the total trip price • 59 days or less before departure: 100% of the total trip price Amounts already paid are deducted from the cancellation fee. If you have paid more than the applicable fee, the difference is refunded. Any booking fee is non-refundable. Applies unless otherwise agreed.
Minor changes may occur, for example adjusted flight times, activities or itinerary. If a significant part of the trip needs to be changed before departure, you will be informed of the change and can, depending on the situation, choose to accept it or accept an offered replacement trip. If the trip is cancelled and the contract is terminated, the payments covered by the refund are repaid without undue delay and no later than within 14 days.
The trip and the travellers
You need to be at least 18 years old to book a trip on your own. If you're under 18, a guardian's approval is required. Contact us before booking and we'll help you with information about what approval is needed.
Yes, return flights are included in our package trips. We currently offer departures from Stockholm, Gothenburg and Copenhagen. Available departure cities vary depending on trip, date and availability. If you're a larger group from another city, contact us and we'll look into possible options.
The rules for hand baggage and checked baggage can vary between packages. Exact baggage weight and number of bags are stated in the booking information and travel documents. For group bookings, a checked bag and a cabin bag are included. In other cases, checked baggage is an optional extra, unless otherwise agreed.
Preliminary flight times may be shown at booking. Flight times can be changed by the airline even after the booking has been completed. We send the final travel documents and current flight information once everything is confirmed. Always check the latest information sent to the lead traveller before departure.
Transfer is included where stated for the chosen trip. For our current trips to Croatia, we arrange transport between the airport and the accommodation or harbour where needed. Information about meeting point and time is sent before departure.
If a trip shows "Fully booked", there are currently no places left on that date. You can then: 1. Check whether the same trip is available on another date 2. Register your interest on the waiting list 3. Contact us if you're a larger group In some cases we can expand capacity or find an alternative for larger groups.
No. The social activities, excursions and events are normally optional. You choose how much you want to take part in. However, instructions concerning safety, transport, check-in, check-out or life on board must be followed. Activities and times may change depending on weather, availability and local conditions.
Safety and practical information
A private travel insurance is not automatically included in the trip. We strongly recommend that all travellers have valid travel insurance covering, among other things, medical care, accidents, delayed or lost baggage and cancellation for personal reasons. First check what travel cover is included in your home insurance and top it up if needed. The travel guarantee does not replace private travel insurance.
When you book a package trip with Studentresor, your trip is covered by insolvency protection through the Danish travel guarantee fund, Rejsegarantifonden. Studentlife Nordics ApS is registered with Rejsegarantifonden under registration number 3866. The protection applies if the organiser were to become insolvent and the travel services you have paid for can therefore not be delivered. If the trip has already started, the protection can also cover repatriation and necessary accommodation until your journey home. The travel guarantee does not cover illness, personal cancellations or lost baggage. For that you need private travel insurance.
Yes. Our trips include group leader support and help from Studentresor during the trip. Which staff are on site varies depending on the trip. On the sailing trips there is also an experienced skipper and, where stated, additional crew on board. Contact details and instructions for how to reach the team during the trip are sent before departure.
Contact Studentresor's team as soon as possible if you get ill, lose important documents or run into other problems during the trip. If there is a fault in the accommodation, transport or any other part of the package trip, notify us immediately, preferably while the trip is ongoing. We need a reasonable opportunity to investigate and try to solve the problem. In case of illness or injury, also contact your insurance company and follow their instructions. In an emergency, contact local emergency services or medical care immediately.
You are responsible for having valid travel documents. Croatia is part of the EU and the Schengen area. Swedish and other EU/EEA citizens can normally travel with a valid passport or national ID card. A driving licence is not a valid travel document for international travel. Travellers of other nationalities should check which passport and visa requirements apply to them before booking and departure.
Which meals are included depends on the trip you book. It is always stated on the trip's page and in the booking confirmation. Let us know about allergies or special dietary needs when you book, and contact us in case of severe allergies. We try to accommodate requests, but cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment in accommodation, restaurants or on boats.
We send a detailed packing list and practical travel information about two to three weeks before departure. The information includes meeting points, transfers, contact details and things that are particularly important for the trip you have booked. In general we recommend: • A valid passport or national ID card • EHIC card and insurance details • Light summer clothes • Swimwear and sun protection • Comfortable shoes • Any personal medication Check that your medication may be brought into the country and bring a prescription or doctor's certificate if needed.
